Quality & Delivery
Quality & reliability
Déco Bali products are made only from good-quality raw materials, and our designs are suitable for private and commercial use. For wood furniture, depending on the requirement, processing and drying of the wood can be done either by natural drying or through our factory-operated kiln, where we can achieve a wood moisture content of 5% in a controlled environment.
Products are tested independently under our strict supervision, with stringent quality controls to ensure high standards of workmanship and finishing. All products are guaranteed against manufacturing defects. Where any item fails to meet our standards, a replacement will be made subject to review of the items in question. All claims need to be supported with photographic evidence.
Déco Bali will investigate all product-defect claims and, if justified, repair or replace the products. Claims are handled in a timely manner, and repairs or replacements are expedited in not more than 90 days.
Good to know: for products made from natural plant materials, shell items, intricate handmade or carved products, and products replicated for the first time from images without mock-up approval, please allow a marginal tolerance in specification, weight, colour and texture. Some natural materials may show finish and material imperfections beyond our control; however we ensure that only the finest materials are selected for production. All products are delivered to our high quality standards and fit for the purpose intended.
Shipping & delivery
Goods are released for shipment only once full payment has been received in our bank account. Clients may arrange their own freight forwarder to collect their goods, or ask Déco Bali to help identify a suitable freight forwarder and assist with the initial communication.
There are three delivery options:
- Full Container Load (FCL) – cost per container
- Less than Container Load (LCL or crated load) – cost per cubic metre
- Airfreight, door to door or airport to airport
The freight forwarder will commence shipping once the funds for the full shipping cost have been received in the forwarder’s bank account; delays in receiving the funds will result in the shipment being rescheduled. The official Bill of Lading will be forwarded by courier once all freight payments are settled. The Bill of Lading is the official document that enables goods to pass from the country of origin to the country of destination, and establishes the client’s ownership of the goods.
Although Déco Bali is willing to liaise with freight-forwarding companies, safe delivery of your goods is the sole responsibility of the freight forwarder, which is a separate service.
Insurance
Unless specified otherwise, goods leaving our compound or the loading address given by the client are not insured. Clients cover and are responsible for the insurance of their orders, free of all risk including war, civil unrest, riots, commotion and strikes. Delays caused by the client, such as push-backs, may result in additional storage costs and are not acceptable unless previously agreed; an agreed delay shall never exceed the standard transportation time from port of shipment to port of destination. Déco Bali is not responsible for damage caused in transit or by improper handling or storage.
Two types of insurance cover are available:
- Insurance included in the shipping cost. The cover offered by the shipping line is of limited liability – it covers the vessel or container being lost at sea, or a damaged or defective container resulting in damage to your goods. Full details can be obtained from the shipping line.
- Additional insurance. Comprehensive cover by an independent broker is available at a fixed percentage of the cost of goods.
Shipment travel time
Travel time will be advised based on the port of departure and port of destination, and on air or sea freight.
Breakage & claims
Claims for breakage or damage are made to the freight-forwarding company:
- Please refer to your copy of the Bill of Lading for terms and conditions.
- Additional insurance cover is available – please ask for details.
- A full inventory of damaged and broken goods must be submitted to the freight forwarder’s office within seven days of receiving your shipment.
- All damaged goods must be supported by photographic evidence, which will be investigated before replacements are agreed.
